Managing Partner

Martin is our Managing Partner, a role he combines with his position as one of the first solicitors in the UK to qualify as an investment advisor. Martin is a member of the Law Society’s Law Management Section and was honoured to be one of the founder members of the Managing Partners Academy in 2007. He has made numerous radio broadcasts, is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and The Probate Section and is a well-known speaker on issues relating to the elderly. Martin is head of the firm's Private Client department and also spearheads our service aimed at assisting those in care who have issues with nursing home fees. Martin also acts as a trustee or advisor to several local charities (in many cases established by Shacklocks) including a number providing assistance to those in need through housing, health and educational support. Away from the office football fan Martin is also keen on cinema, the Edinburgh Fringe, theatre, and travel where he lists his all-time favourite destinations as New York and Las Vegas.
